No matter how hard you try, the tab on the stand that's supposed to hold the mixer won't do it's job, and no amount of wiggling will get it to snap into place. The mixer just falls off the stand.
The mixer itself works really well, but there's no reason to buy this thing for the stand and bowl.
This is the little mixer that can. The motor isn't all that strong, so if you are trying to mix some seriously sticky and thick dough, probably you should pull out a heavy duty machine. This is great for an everyday kind of mixer, whipping up mashed potatoes, a batch of cookies, whipped cream, dips, etc. It's nice because it's not that heavy to take out, it can be used as a stand or hand mixer, and it doesn't take up that much space. I recently purchased this mixmaster again as its predecessor died after nearly a decade of service. The motor didn't die on the old one, but something snapped in the opening that holds the beaters and one side just wouldn't stay up anymore. It's a good product as long as you don't abuse it and perfect for the average cook.
